Restaurant by the Ocean
Restaurant by the Ocean
Design for an indoor/outdoor restaurant on the beach. Digital design means being able to create any look, in any environment, limited only by the imagination. Once created, it's a simple task to experiment with an endless array of surface treatments, fabrics and colors.

  • Bathroom interior with a skylight over a large whirlpool bathtub. A fireplace adds a romantic warmth to the room, which also has a no step glass walk-in shower. The floor is finished with marble with tile insets.
  • Experimenting with a cutaway view of a home interior, using realistic lighting that would be coming through the windows on a sunny day. This helps define the feel of the different rooms in a real world scenario, and experiment with different furniture and color combinations.
  • Interior evening view of a hotel suite in a high-rise building, looking over a city.
  • Twilight view of the back patio of a Southwestern home, with swimming pool and jaccuzi.
  • Along with the more typical real world visualizations, I've also spent many years doing lighting for the video game industry. Here's a series of different lighting variations for a science fiction themed interior.
  • Late afternoon lighting on a two story brick home with a stonework entryway. Windows can be as detailed as required.
  • Aerial view of what could be either a resort, or a series of condominiums. A large, round central pool has connecting walkways that lead to another warmer central pool, with connecting jacuzzis. The grounds surrounding the area have been left in a natural state, with areas of trees composed primarily of palms and banana plants.
  • Green roofs absorb huge amounts of heat that would otherwise cause additional heating in the building interior, creating a need for even more A/C costs. In addition, this design allows for all of the fruits and vegetables served in the cafeteria to be grown on the roof itself.
  • In my earlier years, I did real world studio set design and construction. These can take a long time to build, are costly, and worst of all, the sets frequently end up in the dumpster at the end of the shoot, which is incredibly wasteful. Digital virtual sets can be built in an endless variety, can have all surface treatments easily and quickly changed, and don't end up in a landfill! These can be used with either digital actors or in conjunction with green screen with footage of real actors.
